The Object Permanence Box with Tray is developmentally appropriate for older infants and toddlers for a variety of reasons. To start, this product promotes children's understanding of the complex theories behind cause and effect and object permanence, as the name suggests. Additionally, it's size, durable structure and related effects (sound production) also contribute to its developmental appropriateness. This product inspires creativity and critical thinking through its intentional design; research tells us manipulative activities such as these involve hand-eye coordination and the creation of new concepts, such as size, spatial awareness, gravity and orientation. ,This product speaks to a strong image of the child by highlighting the capabilities, interests and cognitive capacities of children in this stage of development. It enhances learning by challenging the child to refine manipulation skills, and promoting opportunities for them to discover and practice with cause and effect. With that being said, I feel this product design sufficiently achieves its desired goal of promoting object permanence and cause and effect relationships.

A Toddler Favorite

A perfect addition to a toddler Montessori environment. It is sturdy and well made, I've seen other object permanence boxes and I really appreciate this one compared to those. The ball is also made of wood so it leaves a good impression for the toddler when they drop it and hear it fall and roll out. It really does keep their attention and focus as they repetitively put the ball in and watch it roll out. I would definitely recommend this product.

This is a great item that really grabs children's attention. Fantastic for children who are exploring the idea of object permanence. As children age the item can also be used as a very basic introduction to the idea of geometric shape.
